Do you have a passion for video games? Ever thought about repping for your school? If you know how to play League of Legends, DotA 2, or Rocket Arena (or even if you don’t), join NSEF and compete with other high schools.
Along the way, we’ll teach you about the technology involved, from the PCs to the Internet to game design. And we’ll present a number of professions available to you – Networking, Programming, Graphic Design – that don’t necessarily require a 4-year college degree.
We want to get schools to treat e-sports more like traditional on-field sports, in terms of recognition, awards, etc. To do that, we’ll start as an after-school club on your campus. Weekly meetings will alternate between a focus on gaming/competition and the technology behind the games.
We do require that in order to represent your school competitively, that you meet the same bar required for other student-athletes in terms of GPA, attendance and disciplinary record. Not meeting that bar doesn’t mean you can’t participate, just that you can’t represent the school in a match with another school.
So if you like playing video games, or discussing strategy about games, or just beating your rival high school, NSEF is for you. If you’d like your school to participate in the NSEF program, please click here.
